Don't take my booze!
by David.L.Henson ina direct confirmation that judge joseph rutherford, 2nd president of the watchtower organization, had a weak spot for good whisky, can be found in the following hilarious watch tower article.. the u.s. congress had passed the spirit prohibition law, and the judge was absolutely furious that these "servants of satan" tried to take his booze away.. the watch tower, which according to fred franz had jehovah as editor during these days, directly stated that christians could not "participate in" such a prohibition.
in other words, they had to smuggle and drink booze to be loyal to god.
the jws are unfortunately a much more boring sect these days.. the watchtower, november 1, 1924prohibition.

Lovely to have this new letter as such, not part of a video. Also the historic stuff. Nothing seems to change.
Have a double espresso on me,

A little off topic... I'll be moving...
by Expanded-Mind ini'd appreciate getting some opinions about a decision i will shortly have to make.. i am moving soon and have the choice of two different apartments in two different towns.
i am hoping this move will be one of the last that i have to make - i have moved frequently in my life - at least for a long, long while.. the apartment i like the least is in a town and a location that i love due to my history with, and connection to the area.
the apartment i love is in a town and location i am not as crazy about, but it is still a really nice area.

The answer as any real estate expert knows is Location. Location, Location.

Statistically speaking you would be more likely to live than get smallpox. It didn't kill the entire population of the world. Statistically speaking you wouldn't have died of polio TB or measles. That doesn't make the vaccination against those diseases any thing less than a great move forward in the application of medical science for human health.

Edward Jenner started it all by experimenting with vaccination against smallpox in a way that would subject him to imprisonment and public horror if the same methods were used today.
Smallpox raged around the world until in the 1950s the WHO instigated a world wide program of vaccination. By 1980 the world was declared clear of this horrible killer disease and the vaccinations creased.
I myself had the injection when I was a kid together with the TB jab and I had no ill effects.
So I am not an anti vaxxer. Of course there is a risk but those that minimise and seek to rationalise the risk of the pandemic are in my opinion misguided. Would they prefer say, smallpox? Would they argue against smallpox injections?
In the early 1900's about 1/3 of children died from measles, polio and other diseases.
Why are these diseases not common now? Children were routinely vaccinated from these horrific diseases without any public outcry. Polio was completed beaten but not before it killed my Aunt and left her daughter motherless. Would you like the freedom to suffer polio? Then Dr Andrew Wakefield issued his fraudulent paper about MMR and the public doubt still persists. Measles therefore is still extant and does regularly kill people.
Just another point. Thanks to JW Facts for the following quotes:
"Vaccination never prevented anything and never will, and is the most barbarous practice...We are in the last days; and the devil is slowly losing his hold, making a strenuous effort meanwhile to do all the damage he can, and to his credit can such evils be placed. ... Use your rights as American citizens to forever abolish the devilish practice of vaccinations." Golden Age 1921 Oct 12 p.17
"Thinking people would rather have smallpox than vaccination, because the latter sows the seed of syphilis, cancers, escema, erysipelas, scrofula, consumption, even leprosy and many other loathsome affections. Hence the practice of vaccination is a crime, an outrage and a delusion." Golden Age 1929 May 1 p.502
"Avoid serum inoculations and vaccinations as they pollute the blood stream with their filthy pus." Golden Age 1929 Nov 13 pp.106-107
This was partially supported on the basis that blood byproducts could not be used.
"Vaccination is a direct violation of the everlasting covenant that God made with Noah after the flood." Golden Age 1931 Feb 4 p.293
"Of all the inventions that have been foisted upon mankind for their defilement the most subtly devilish is that of vaccination." Ibid p.295
Perhaps we should go back to that point of view?

I grew up in a proper Dub family, my folks were very active converts and fully committed to the full life style.
I started having questions at a very early age without realising that the questions were fundamental to faith. I was baptised very young on my own whim without, of course, having any idea why or what I was signing away.
By my mid-teens I remember going to an 8 day assembly, the atmosphere was great, the girls plentiful, the "world" did not exist. "This is great", I thought, "but is it true?"
That was a definite way point. I decided to put my doubts to one side and plunge in. That I did, pioneered, went where the "need" was great, became an elder 1 year after the position was invented. The whole 9 yards.
The truth is though, the unanswered, unanswerable questions do not go away. My decision to be gullible eventually frayed and I had to face the TTATT.
By then though I had married, procreated and been absorbed by the web, the net that keeps you locked in. As many testify, you can leave but the price is high. So I keep going as a reluctant passenger, I keep my nose clean and try not to offend my conscience by influencing any one to "faith". I fact I do the opposite and try to spread gentle doubt from within.
Some would call that cowardly but that's where I am and I'm comfortable in my own skin now.
